- Graphical User Interface (GUI)
- The point-and-click design makes EDI/eV2 easy, even
for an EDI novice. Pull-down windows and action
buttons make even the most complex operations seem
simple. A split screen approach to mapping allows
you to map from your application format to your EDI
format with a simple mouse click. The GUI supports
multiple presentation styles including Windows,
Presentation Manager, and Open Look. Online help is
available through hypertext format.
- Commercial Database Integration
- EDI/eV2 uses a powerful commercial relational
database to store and track documents with ease.
Users can take advantage of a runtime version of
Sybase that ships
with the software. EDI/eV2 will also integrate with
other commercial databases.
- Client/Server Technology
- EDI/eV2 incorporates the architecture of leading applications - a graphical
(GUI) client running on a variety of workstations, connected directly or
remotely to a UNIX server. The three primary information processing elements -
user interface, application logic, and database management, are distributed to
take best advantage of each platform. The EDI source/target application can
reside on the dame server, or be accessed by any file transfer protocol
supported by the network.
- Application Integration
- Input and output specifications are easily defined
through EDI/eV2's online application definition tool.
This tool lets you use actual data from your application
to define your file layouts. Combined with EDI/eV2's
flexible and powerful mapper, the application
definition tool allows for seamless integration of
EDI data to your application.
- Document Tracking
- EDI/eV2's document tracking system provides real-time
information on individual document status. Documents
can be sorted in multiple ways, such as by trading
partner, document type, status, date, time or user
defined data, and stored for easy access. EDI/eV2's
powerful filtering and searching tools can quickly
locate an individual document from a specific partner.
- Flexible Communications
- Communication scripts, which can be tailored to meet customer
specific requirements, are provided for major VANs
(value-added networks) in the United States, Canada, and
Europe. You can set up communication sessions to run
automatically based on time of day, day of week, or day
of month.
- Standards
- EDI/eV2 supports all ANSI X12 and EDIFACT
standards and their subsets including AIAG, CIDX,
EDS, VICS, UCS, WINS, TDCC, and HEDIC.
Multiple versions and new releases of these standards
are also provided by Premenos. With the mapping
tool, you can tailor the document to work with only
those segments and elements you and your partner use.
